0071 A Mexican Spanish Version of the Circadian Energy Scale

Abstract Introduction Circadian health is increasingly recognized for the contributions it makes to general health. Few instruments assessing circadian rhythms have been translated into Spanish, however. The present study describes a Spanish translation of Energy Scale (CIRENS). instrument was designed according language norms those living along US-Mexico border by bilingual research team. CIRENS completed both English and speaking residents, in their preferred language. Methods Data were collected from sample N=100 individuals Mexican descent Nogales, Arizona. 2-item scale that assesses chronotype examining overall energy level morning evening. Translation done following process: (1) team member attempted an initial translation; (2) community edited (3) certified medical translator revision; (4) focus group N=5 members made further contextual edits; (5) back-translation performed; (6) additional examined final version compatibility; (7) accuracy version. T-tests differences between who measure vs English. Results Of survey respondents, N=42 Spanish. No significant observed determination took versus (p=0.22) instrument. As continuous score, respondents demonstrated slightly more morningness (p=0.01). Per individual items, no seen evening levels (p=0.22), but reported higher scores (2.76 2.17, p=0.008).
